Welcome to the UNCG LIS Capstone Portfolio for H. David Giz Womack
This wiki serves as the capstone project for H. David "Giz" Womack. It contains all the elements required by UNCG for LIS 698 and required for completion of the MLIS degree. (See navigation pane on right for links.) This capstone portfolio demonstrates that I am prepared to function as a librarian at a professional level.
Additionally, the wiki format for this capstone is meant to serve as a potential model for other UNCG LIS students. Students taking LIS 698 in coming semesters will be able to view this wiki as it is stored on a public server. The wiki format may prove useful for future students taking the capstone course. LIS students taking LIS 698 could receive feedback on their capstone not only from their professor, but also from their peers prior to the deadline for the project. These peers would then also have a model to follow when they take LIS 698 and perhaps even a small community of other LIS students with which they could share their own experiences.
As more and more electives and upper level classes become exclusively online experiences, the capstone experience could be used not only to create a portfolio of the student's work, but also a community of new librarians.
